A Triple Mufs Whammy! 1s bowled out Glenrothes for 123, with Phil Rogers getting 4 wickets and 41*, Keith 3 wickets, and Adam 2 wickets and 20something*. 2s had a shortened match against top-of-the-table Dunfermline Carnegie. The neighbours scored a daunting 199/6 from their 40 overs after being inserted by the dashing Mufs skipper, with opener Lafferty finishing 72*, Matty Wauchop 39, and skipper Phil Daughtrey 32. Top Mufs bowlers were Nadeem with 2-31 and Bridegroom Simpson 2-42, with the other two wickets taken by Stuart 'Pink Jumper' Coull and the develishly handsome El Vesto. But special mention must be made for Oscar, who bowled an unplayable 8 overs off the real for just 9 runs! Just too good... 51 runs were scored off the first 16 overs for the loss of just one wicket, so for only 9 of them to come from Oscar's bowling really was outstanding. Mufs reply started strongly, with Nadeem and Ali bringing up the 50 partnership in the 8th over. Carnegie had required twice the time to score that, for the loss of one wicket. By the time Nadeem edged behind for 68, the partnership had been extended to 91 from 15 overs. Arnav continued the pace, putting on 23 with Ali from just 4 overs. Sutha was bowled for a duck, but then Sasid strode out and struck 52 to get Mufs within sight, batting particularly well with Graham Watson. Stuart and Oscar finished things off, the winning runs coming with 2 overs to spare, Mufs winning by 4 wickets. The 3s also beat Clacks, but Cookie will have to post details! Well done everyone!

Make that a quadruple whammy with a cherry on top, after another win on Sunday on the beautiful Isle of Arran. Gowtham the star man with a high quality 93 (the next highest score by any batsman on either side being 20). Also good to see the next generation of "spin twins" operating in tandem - Neil Y bowling well but Adeel grabbing the glory with 4 fine wickets.
For those who weren't there, Saturday's one's victory was a fine, fine team effort - congrats one and all. I was pleased to remove the top 3 batsmen cheaply to set us on our way, with the Beast at the other end being as tight as a nun's derriere (conceding just 10 runs from his 10 overs I think, with 1 wicket). Credit also to Adam for his all-round efforts and to Tom, whose one scoring shot in his 16 overs at the crease may sound unimpressive (Willy fell asleep I think), but was invaluable to the cause as it really helped to steady a slowly sinking ship.
However the real plaudits must go to Phil "Man o' the match" "Claypole" "Phildo" Rogers, who first dug us out of a scrape with the ball, taking 4 wickets (after a handy 5th wicket partnership had threatened to undo our early good work) - AND then dug us out of another scrape with the bat, a priceless, magnificent and wonderful 39n.o. rescuing the wreckage of another upper order collapse. Well done Phildo, and well done one and all!
Next season let's challenge for the top of the table. We've seen how beatable everyone can be, we know that just one or two close results going our way would have seen us sitting in the top half this season, and we really can do it. As mars would say, Believe!
PS: Bye bye Fauldhouse, bye bye
PPS: By my reckoning we have not only overtaken Cramond, we have also overtaken Livi, as they only picked up 2 points on Sat - so we finish 7th!

Sannox Vs Murrayfield-Dafs - Sunday friendlyMake that a quadruple winning weekend! Yesterday we made the long trek to the Isle of Arran to take on Sannox CC. Despite some rain interuption, we managed to play the whole game. Batting first, Mufs started slowly but steadily, Ali 'Mr Miyagi' Amjid and Gowtham 'One-Eye' Rai taking 16 over to put on 50 runs. Ali fell shortly after for 10 from 40 balls, for an opening partnership of 65 in exactly an hour. Monster then helped 'Bullseye' add a further 54 runs, before falling for 7 (30 balls) lbw to Brooks with the score on 121. Gowtham was bowled by Brooks for a magnificent 93 from just 90 balls in 93 mins featuring 11 x 4s and 4 x 6s. His 50 came up from 69 balls, so the next 43 runs were hit from just 21 deliveries! Sasid and a very hungover Shielsy made useful contributions of 13 and 19, and Phil Yelland finished on 20* hitting 2 x 4s and 1 x 6. The Mufs tail failed to get to grips with the wicket while going for quick runs, losing 4 wickets in the final 5 overs. Mufs finished with an above-par score of 180 for 9 from their 40 overs. Top Sannox bowlers were J. May with 8-0-28-4 and A. Brooks 8-0-30-2. Sannox's reply was hampered thanks to some tight bowling from the Mufs opening attack of Nasty and Vesty, with Vesty and Sasid combining to take the first wicket in just the 3rd over with a runout, and again to dismiss the other opener with a Sasid taking a good one-handed catch at the wicket from an edge. After 8 overs, Sannox were 10/2, and Shielsy and 'Jim Bowen' kept up the pressure with Belly getting the 3rd wicket, before the two spinners Adeel and Neil Yelland were introduced to bowl in tandem. Adeel had the most success, finishing with figures of 4-26, though Neil bowled equally well for 1-27. Ali and Monster took a wicket apiece. A measure of the tightness of the Mufs bowling, and the aggression of our batting, is that Sannox only managed 1 maiden in 40 overs, whereas Mufs bowled 8 maidens in 31 overs. Mufs hit 18 x 4s and 5 x 6s in total, but Sannox only hit 5 boundaries. Sannox were all out for 77 from 31.1 overs, Mufs winning by 103 runs. Thanks to Sannox for their hosiptality, and to travelling supporters Mrs Leopard and Mrs Monster. Mufs batting | Batsman | How out | Score | 1 | M. last midweek friendly
RBGE 86 of 14 overs Gowtham 20 Rtd, M Ward 20 Rtd. Ed Planners 66ish off their 14 overs. Match reduced to 14-overs a-side as the Planners failed to live up to their name and failed to plan a communication to tell us where the game was. James Ward got his first ever wicket - should have been 2 but Dad dropped an earlier chance. Extra pocket money for James I fear. Good bowling by Adeel again who got the ball to bite on the hard Newfield wicket. That completes a run of 12 wins in a row for the BOTS. Well done all for a great season now lets hope we can do the double over Innellan on Saturday.
