hi all
MUFS.....DAFS......are all ok but i was wondering if we have to rename what would or could it be.....murrayfield.........?
in line of ,......say....... sussex shark or chicago bulls etc

Murrayfield Muntjacs. Maybe that's a bit tame though, so ...
Murrayfield Mounties. Although that implies we're Canadian, so ...

It is a little known fact that the terms of merger between Murrayfield CC and DAFS CC were so set that the DAFS name, or a suitable and identifiable reference to it ,would continue in perpetuity in accordance with Section 17, sub-section 3, clause (a) of the 1926 Merger of Cricket Clubs (Scotland) Act.
Failure to do so will incur damages of £1m payable immediately to former members of said DAFS Cricket Club.

I have consulted with our legal team, and they advise that under EC "Naming of Sports Clubs Directive" regulation (1972), amended by the "Sports Clubs Serving Pies for Tea Regulation" (1987b), revoked by the "Cricket Clubs in Countries Whose Populace Think Cricketers are Gay Directive" (2000) and reinstated under the famous "Extra Rights For People with Bellies" Clause (2003), that you're talking out of your backside, Lardo.
Although "Dafs Ducks" could be a viable alternative, come to think of it.

DAFS ducks - yes there were plenty of them unfortunantly.

Oh no... we are getting silly again on a Club message board and we will soon incur the wrath of OMH and the Donimator.
Actually thinking back we missed a trick 6 years ago with the merger... a right stonking name would have been something like "Edinburgh Cricket Club". Or the even more cunning "North and West of Edinburgh (and some bits in between) [excluding Cramond] Cricket Club"
