Gentlemen,
Calling all club members, past, present and future to rally together support groups, gather your banners and practise your chanting and get down to watch the 2's, 3's and 4's play their final matches of the ESCA Saturday league season this Saturday the 27th of August.
All 3 teams up for promotion, 4th XI could possibly win the league and some cash for the club and some bloody competitive cricket will be the menu for the day and I am sure the lads who get selected to play will appreciate having comrades on the side line in support.
Games are as follows:
2nd XI (Currently 2nd in Div 3) vs Grange 3rd XI at Roseburn Grass Square
3rd XI (Currently 3rd in Div 5 and pushing hard!) vs Watsonians 3rd XI at Craiglockhart
4th XI (Currently smashing it, 1st in Div 8) vs Drummon Trinity 2nd XI at Roseburn Artificial
So get your carry outs, bring the family and come along to support the club in what I will anticipate as a fantastic day of cricket.
Please note: None of the above will actually happen if it is raining. This post is in no way responsible for the weather on the day and cannot be blamed as such. If, in the event of normal wet weather resuming, it is up to your best judgement as to whether you come down or not.
UP THE MUFs

Hi guys, on behalf of the 4th team we have some thank yous to make after Saturday's match: Andy Lacey and "Beasty" Sorrell for sweeping the pitch and fetching the teas, all that turned out to support, whoever put the teas out for us, "Monty" West for a magnificent spell of umpiring and his help putting everything away, whoever bought the champagne (very generous), in short it made the day feel like a club achievement rather than a team in isolation. On behalf of the 11 who played on Saturday we would like to point out that this title was won over 13 matches, all that played contributed (I believe there was more than 30), every batsman that scored a run, every bowler that bowled a dot ball and every fielder that saved a run won this title not just the 11 that played in the final game. Finally I would like to thank the thief (may he rot in Hell, or depending on your beliefs, be reincarnated as Paul Hubbard's jock strap) who stole Tooky's bag. Tooky, in tandem with Paul Leonard, channeled his frustration and anger to rip through Drummond Trinity's front order and leave them reeling at 20 for 5 from which they never recovered.
