We have a midweek friendly on Tues against Bots at Roseburn (6pm start). No doubt there will be the odd MUFS player amongst their ranks.
Please post your availability here or email Dan (freariscool@hotmail.com) or Andrew (jamesalacey@yahoo.co.uk).

No doubt there will be the odd MUFS player amongst their ranks. Rob is not that odd. Botanics also have a full set of midweek fixtures this season (at least one a week) and are a good alternative if you can't play for Mufs that week. If you want to be included on their curculation list then please sent me a pm on here with your email address. Upwards of half of the team are generally Mufs so you'll be in good company. Games are open to all (RBGE CC don't have membership) apart from Cup games where you can only play for one team a season. Broon

Broonie, you are a cheeky monkey, but you do make a good point.

Hi,
Team for the game today is:
Daniel Raja Nathan Chris R Ashiq Carl Mahesh Vinod Adam S Nadeem Luke H
Game start at 6:00pm so meet 5:30ish would be good. Think we will be on the artificial cos of the dampness on the grass wicket.
Cheers

Quick Match Report from the game:
As usual a game played in great spirits and not great weather. With a good number of Muffers in the BOTS team, pride was at stake and the competition was fierce. Master Fotheringham won the first battle by winning the toss and electing to have a bat. Some nice tight bowling by MDAFS ensured that BOTS were off to a slow scoring rate, thrown in with a few wickets MDAFS were in a good position. Enter Muffers Bharat and Anand for BOTS, both of whom put on some good runs before Anand retired (fat - at least thats what the scorebook shows) rather than face the lethal bowling of President Wilkie. Bharat made 28 before retireing and a little bit of late hitting meant bots reached 97 of their 18 overs.
In reply, returning Muffer Carl Trahmns smashed 27 runs off 10 balls to quickly be retired and ensuring MDAFS got off to a flyer. However the wickets then began to flow for BOTS and only Mahesh managed to reach double figures. Tight bowling (The Hon. Mr Clench and Sir Broony taking two wickets a piece) and good fielding in the torrential rain meant 16 runs was needed off the final over for victory. It was all left for the entering President Wilkie to do....... what ensued was one of the greatest displays of hitting.... wait no that was Chris Gayle in the IPL. What actually happened was a wicket maiden for Mr Clench. BOTS victory by 15 runs. Fun and entertaining game that was for the most part played in atrocious conditions. Thanks to Mr Lacey and Mr Fergusson for standing in the rain and umpireing! Keep an eye on the message board for details of the next midweek friendly.
