And the silly awards..(at last).... ;D
Comedy Moment (on the park) The 4s with their Wisden entering record defeat by Teuchars. As they say 'all news is good news'... maybe not.
Comedy Moment (off the Park) Anand's alter ego 'Steve'.
Champagne Moment The Beast of Sorrell's 5 wicket destruction of Heriot's 2s to seal promotion to Div 1. Honourable mentions to Lindsey Towns 7 wicket haul, Fat Raj's first 5-for, and Mel for a moment of happiness (not recorded when).
Worst Dressed Muf Rob Foths with the incredible ripping whites and red briefs combo. Honourable mention to Neill Yelly - the 'White Adeel'.
Worst Mufs Haircut Mr Belly/Mr Beard. The ultimate comb-over is not far off...
Worst Excuse for Not Playing Adeel - for various lateness/just woke up etc etc incidents. Honourable mention to Mr Belly for watching Stoke City.
Most Impressive Beer Belly keenly contested as ever.... with Foths, Dazza, and Mr Belly being narrowly shaded out by Old Mother's astonishing expandable gut-girth.
Best Opposition Tea Stirling County for their medieval style banquet. Honourable mention to Heriots for Pies (building bridges here). A very definite dishonorable (or dysentary perhaps) mention to Leith and their infamous egg pieces.
Most Sporting Opposition West Lothian Div 3 team (i think) got it ahead of HX Div 5 team, Stirling County 2s (getting very wet in the rain and carrying on although losing), Marchmont ('all round good eggs' - T Wheeler)
Back to eggs of a less wholesome variety again...
MEDIC! Award for Injury in or around the combat zone Regan - for egg sarnie induced 'injury' and taxi driver medical intervention combination.
Daybus Memorial Toy-Throwing Award for best cricket related loss of temper Honourable mentions to Tom for his Kismet tantrums, and the Leith keeper v our 4s... but a clear winner is Melv with his Kismet induced fury and general all round regular loss of temper. A worthy win celebrated in style by immediately getting into a strop and ripping up his Mufta winners award certificate.
And finally... Most Improved player of the Year was in fact Subo (and his red shoes)
Well done Tom for his excellent hosting of the event. (and who has put himself in a strong early position for Comedy moments with his various comic shenanigans at Roseburn the next again Sunday)

Sounds like a good night. I'll always regret never winning the Daybus award for a succession of lbw related strops and bat hurling. No mention of the Phildo knackered old bat award on here!
Have a great season everyone.
Phildo Zorba Claypole (sounds like the intro to Porridge)

Zorba
Yes - sorry - we forgot the claypole knackered bat award. Perhaps we should turn it into fielder of the year award or something similar. Or whoever gets out lbw the most in a season.
