A few sore heads today no doubt! Anyway will leave the usual crew to craft their final match reports but news in brief is that there were wins for 1s, 3s and 4s (2s no game) in the final round of matches - with the Ones promoted back to Division 1. Ones posted 227 at Goldenacre with Hubbard (58) and Shiels (44) putting on 83 for the 2nd wicket to set up a platform for Maggy (36) and Anand (43) and JP (20 odd?) to get us beyond 200 and maximum batting points. After a pie-fuelled tea (hurrah) there was some growing twitchiness as Colin Thompson hit a very rapid 51 for Heriots but from a threatening 71-1 off 12 overs the entrance of the Beast of Sorrell had instant rewards with Raja Javed caught off Richard's first ball and the heart of the Heriots line-up destroyed in a devastating spell where the Beast took 5 wickets for 3 runs in 5 overs including the crucial Thompson wicket. Beasty finished with 5-15 as Heriots were bowled out for 128. Victory by 99 runs and some old Goldenacre ghosts laid to rest......
With Marchmont routing Kismet for just 43 and winning by 7 wickets, then the Cavalry Park crew take the Div 2 title by a single point. Many congratulations to them - a thoroughly decent bunch. Commiserations to Musselburgh - hopefully they can achieve promotion next year.

Well done to the 1s on proomotion and to all four teams for a good season.
A huge thanks too to the captains and vice captains who bear the brunt of the work to get sides out and cope with all of the moans and groans.
