As a number of people have shown interest in this game, whilst it is still over three weeks away I thought I should explain what is involved. Sannox is a village on the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland - you can see pictures of the ground on www.sannoxcricket.com. We get to the game by driving to Ardrossan and getting the ferry to the island where members of their team pick us up and take us to the ground. The ferry departs at 9.40am and the journey to Ardrossan takes just over two hours. The ferry ticket return for a foot passenger costs £ 9.40. The game normally starts between 11.30 and noon and is forty overs per side with lunch between the innings. At the end of the game we normally have a few beers and catch the 7.20pm ferry back to Ardrossan. We will need a minimum of three cars which we park at Ardrossan for the day. For those who want to stay over for a few days if you go to the Ayrshire and Arran tourist board site you can get accomodation details. Phil

Hey team, you can count me out for the rest of the season unfortunately. I am in NZ for a few more weeks. Will be sure to catch up when I arrive back to discuss various exciting cricketing stories over pints a plenty.

Hi Phil, apparently the 4s have games on the Saturday and Sunday next week so unfortunately I won't be able to play.
Sorry, David

I have now checked and the 4s have a game on Sunday.
Realistically I think this puts this trip in some doubt because I know a lot of people will be committed to Saturday and I appreciate that a 7am start on Sunday may not be attractive.
I have four players at present
Myself (Phil) Neil Y Dan Amir
In light of the other game I intend to take an early decision about whether we call the game off ( partly because I am away on business later in the week and arranging things will be tricky) so, if you are interested and we need at least two more car drivers and ideally three can you please post or text me urgently.

MATCH OFF.
Given the 4s League game on Sunday and the fact that following nets there was little appetite for another game I have let Sannox know that we will not be coming.
They are an understating bunch in that they too have had problems on a couple of occasions in fielding sides this year and they appreciate the fact they are not being let down late in the day.
We'll try to fix the game for next year but perhaps earlier in the season
