After a couple of right doings in our last two visits to Merchiston Castle School it was victory beer that was supped alongside the post-match sandwiches that the Staff kindly provide. We were invited to field first on a belter of a track and MCS make their runs at a typically brisk pace with opener young Doug Voag retiring on 54, the other opener Clayton dismissed LBW by Sam for 7. Osborne hits 24 before being smartly caught by Madhu off Amir. Molyneux (6) is caught behind by a keeping Belly off Anand and Hillier (5) is lured into holing out in the deep off the Donimator with Anand taking a very fine running catch. With Roache 12 not and Marnewick 17 not, MCS finish on 148-4 off their 20 overs. MDAFS bowling - Bharat 3-0-16-0, Luke 2-0-17-0, Sam 2-0-15-1, Madhu 3-0-21-0, Amir 3-0-21-1, Chris R 2-0-20-0, Anand 2-0-5-1, Don 2-0-11-1, Andy L 1-0-13-0. Despite losing Sam early on for 3, MDAFS also bat briskly with Sherri in good form with 31 (7 fours) and Andy 18 (3 fours). Don is bowled for a single and then an unbroken partnership of 86 between Luke and Anand sees us home with 5 balls to spare. Luke reaching a fine 53 not out (2 sixes, 7 fours), bringing up his 50 with the winning boundary, and Anand 34 not out (2 sixes, 4 fours). As ever thanks to MCS for their hospitality.
