Not a great afternoon for the 4s I'm afraid not help by the fact that two of the selected team failed to turn up.
Batting first we made 101 for 8 (all out) off 24.4 overs against a good young Dunfermline 3rds side. young Saad made a great 42, Mamoun weighed in with 23 whilst Ross finished 1 not out and Annas made 1. Sadly Don, Stephen Willis, Phil, Zish and Ben all failed to trouble the scorers.
The Fifers reached 102 for the loss of 2 wickets in 16 overs. Mamoun took 2 for 17 off and Ben made a sharp stumping. Annas bowled 4 overs for 31, Ross 3 overs for 30 and Don 2 overs for 16.
Given that we had only nine fielders everyone tried their very best and the youngsters again showed a lot of promise for the future.

Copied from my ESCA message board post due to lack of time:
No scorebook to hand so from memory:
Div 2 at Cavalry Park:
Murrayfield DAFS 242 for 8 (Mangesh Akerkar 122, JP Cruz Rocha 57)
beat
Marchmont 238 for 9 (Matt Loeffen 120, JP Cruz Rocha 3 wickets)
Tale of two tons at Cavalry Park, with Maggy's second hundred in three weeks setting up a challenging total and Marchmont then reduced to 36 for 3 before a brilliant hundred from Loeffen, with fine support from Maksimcyzk (probably misspelled, sorry) looked like seeing the home side to victory. Melvyn Clench's dismissal of Loeffen proved the turning point, and MDAFS held on despite more good strokeplay from the Marchmont lower order keeping them within touching distance right up to the last ball.
Great game of cricket played in excellent spirits throughout. I need to be back playing soon, as watching is far too stressful...
Elsewhere, 2s were convincingly beaten (8 wkts?) by Livingston at Roseburn after being bowled out for under 100 batting first. 3s lost to Holy Cross 2s by 75 runs despite more thunderous belts from the mighty blade of Captain Kidd.
Today sees us take on Leith FAB in the Small Clubs Cup at Leith Links, 1.30pm start - vociferous support most welcome.
Cheers Tom

2s result was as follows:
MUFS 98 ao Livingston 99-3
All round poor performance with bat, ball and field. Lets make this the one poor game of the season and restart in a couple of weeks back being competitive as we have been.
