Tomorrow (Tuesday) sees friendly-ish rivalry renewed at Arboretum in the Masterton Trophy - side currently looks like this:
1. Mangesh 2. Tom W 3. Luke 4. Sam 5. Adam S 6. Melvyn 7. Asif 8. Kashif 9. Adeel 10. Sutha 11. Bharat
Please be there in good time for a prompt start (think official start time is 6.15 but please be there and ready before 6 if at all possible).
Would be good to see some travelling support as well - ever the fine hosts, the Crossers reliably inform me the bar will be open from 6ish...
Cheers Tom

MDCC 124 for 8 (20 overs) HX 125 for 2 (20 overs)
A typically close fought game that ended with Cross needing just 4 to win and 3 to tie and therefore go through on fewer wickets lost. Asif nearly dragged it back our way for an unlikely win with just one run conceded off the first five balls of the over, but an off side wide took the game out of our reach and Cross finished things off with a last ball single to win outright.
Had we won it would have been a bit of an outrageous steal, to be fair - Cross were always ahead of the game when batting, mainly due to 18 wides from an off-key bowling attack (mea very much culpa on that one), and the big guns not quite firing with the bat, with the exceptions of Luke (28 I think) and Sutha (an excellent 20-odd, with really intelligent shotmaking and running). Credit also to Adeel for his partnership with Sutha that got us up to a decent score (though rather less credit for his interesting take on a reverse sweep...against Shannon...only ever going to be one winner there). And good to welcome Bharat to the 1s fold - some excellent fielding from him in the last two overs helped keep in the game until the very end.
Cheers to the Crossers for characteristically friendly hospitality - best of luck to them for the season, and all the more reason for us to keep winning games in division 2 and get back up to renew acquaintances with them in the top division.
Tom
