Copied from Maggy's post on a separate thread:
Hey Guys this the team for our first practice match of the season to be played against Holycross on 18 April 2010 (Sunday). Please reach Arboretum by 12 30 for 1300 start.
1. Mangesh 2. Tom 3. Paul H 4. Asif 5. Kashif 6. Raj D 7. Luke H 8. JP 9. Melvyn C 10. Regan 11. Anand
1pm start at Arboretum (opposite Edinburgh Academy, where our indoor nets have been), 40 overs per side. As stated elsewhere, if you're not in the XI but would like to come along then please do - always a good day out at the Arbo. We've got further games the following Saturday (inter-club at Roseburn) and Sunday (v Boroughmuir at Roseburn) so everyone who wants it should get the chance of at least one pre-season game.
Is it that time of year already...?
Cheers Tom

Well surprise surprise .... after all that recent sunshine.... down came the rain. And the first victim for the Weather Gods this season.
They are obviously displeased so a sacrificial offering may need to be made on Friday's MUFTAs night.

Hoping for kinder treatment from the weather gods this weekend (24-25 April), when we have: 1) a 4s league game on the Roseburn grass on Saturday - Don to post the team 2) an inter-club practice game on the Roseburn artificial on Saturday, on which Andy will post more details 3) a 1s (ish) friendly v Boroughmuir on Sunday which I'm organising. So far I have Raj S, Raj D, Chris Banks and Regan definitely in, with other spaces up for grabs (N.B. if you told me your availability in the pub on Sunday then you may need to tell me again...). Let me know if you're available via usual routes - text to 07876 673320 or email to imsorryihavent@cluemail.com. Also - need to confirm numbers for Friday night's MUFTAs asap so that we've got roughly the right amount of food for everyone. If you'd like to attend and haven't yet told me, please do so asap. Should be an entertaining night as ever. Cheers Tom

For those not involved in 4s league game we are running a competitive interclub 40 over a side game on the artificial (no spikes please) on Saturday April 24 starting at 1.30pm captained by the 2s and 3s captains. All are welcome regardless of whether you are playing on Sunday. We want to get two 11s out so please can you send your availability to Andrew Lacey (email jamesalacey@yahoo.co.uk). If we have more than 22 players we will accommodate the extra so all will get a game (bat, bowl and field). We will be charging a half match fee (£3) to cover cost of pitch hire and will not be providing teas so please provide your own. The urn will be on for those of you who require a cup of tea during the day.

You couldn't make it up...
Two days in April when it's been too wet for cricket - and those are the same tow days when we had 1st team friendlies organised. Match off today due to waterlogged Roseburn. Must be due to a combination of "rain man" Anand being in the team and me doing the organising I think.
Plenty of chances to get some practice in ahead of the 1s/2s/3s league season though - nets at Roseburn on Monday from 6pm, and midweek friendly games on Wednesday and Thursday - availability to Ian Shiels for those please.
And please make sure you've told one of the captains (or me) whether you're available for next Saturday's league games. Selection meeting will be happening after nets on Monday.
Lastly, well done to the 4s for getting the league season off to a victorious start, excellent work boys. And hope those who played in the inter-club game yesterday got a good workout - Asif bowled Kashif 0 was the highlight for me...
Cheers Tom
