Hello Volunteers required to help with a variety of jobs down at Roseburn Park on Sunday 11 April - from 11am - though early comers welcome from 10am.
We need to repair the batting practice end that was damaged by vandals (they burnt a large hole in the mat) - only Don and Mr Belly turned out for the last attempt to do this - as we need to lift a new complete batting end from the armoury to replace the old one it needs about 6 folk to do this (it is heavy!!). So there was obviously no way me and Don could do it last Sun. The alternatives are that we either don't repair the practice end - which will make it really fun for people to bat on or we get in contractors for this type of work and your annual subscriptions will therefore go through the roof next year. There are a host of other jobs that need doing too - *tidying up the armoury *rolling the square * and if time, and if CEC supply the paint ... washing down and then painting the exterior of the Armoury building. * and no doubt Messers Wilkie and Hubbard will think of more wee jobs to do.
THIS CLUB HAS BEEN BUILT UP ON THE BACKS OF VOLUNTEERS GIVING UP THEIR TIME - SO PLEASE GIVE UP A BIT OF YOURS FOR THE MUFS CAUSE!

Plentiful day's work at Roseburn today, with lots of major and minor jobs done in preparation for the season.
Good to see plenty of willing volunteers, both old timers and newcomers; giving up a Sunday for the benefit of the club is just what we want.
As we get into the season, there will be an ongoing need for further help in a variety of areas and the more people who help out, the less the burden falls on one or two.
If anyone wants to get thoroughly involved with preparing, maintaining and repairing the grass square let me know. All, some, one or more of Monday evenings (around nets), Saturday mornings, Thursday and Friday afternoons will usually see me at Roseburn and help is always appreciated.
