Hello Muffers
Bit of retro-captaincy in order this weekend due to absence of our glorious leaders.
So brushing off the dust and oiling the rusted recesses of his captaincy brain for the Ones is Mr Belly. This will (probably) not see the return of pies onto the Tea menu I'm afraid.
So to take on the evil Largonians of the East Neuk in a do or die game at Roseburn in Division One will be these fine gentlemen... listed in approximate size of Belly girth, both current and potential....
Gutbuckets... 1. Ian Shiels... Belly supremo 2. Regan Black 3. Paul Hubbard 4. Mangesh Akerkar
Potential lard-ar*ses... 5. Phil Rogers 6. Danny Abraham 7. Jean-Pierre Cruz Rocha 8. Luke Hayes
Need more pie... 9. Adam Scott 10. Raj Sampath (vice-belly) 11. Raj Devanagare
Arrive by 12.15 - earlier preferred if you wish to do some practice as we will have the Muflings training on Sat am, so nets may be up.
Latecomers will be baked into a large pie and eaten.
So, Muffers, time to reach deep in the the darkest recesses of your soul to drag something out of such pure and utter evil to inflict on your enemy. With hate in your hearts and evil flowing through your limbs defend your land and REPEL THE INVADING LARGONIANS! DESTROY! KILL! KILL! KILL!
Max von Belly
... I think I need a lie down now.

Raj "R2D2" Devanagare 9. Jean-Pierre "Jean-Luc Pickard" Cruz-Rocha 10. Mangesh "Ming the Merciless" Akerkar 11. Raja "Spock" Sampath

The 4s have a Sunday game this week against Dunfermline 3s. Due to a clash with their 1sts playing in the SCU trophy, this game has been moved to the Carins ground at Broomhall where the 4s have already played this season. It has also been agreed to start this game at 12:30. The match will be on grassCan anyone driving please make sure that you are familiar with how to get there please. Rob youll be fine as you still have my map. maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=KY11+3EW+&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwloc=AIm not around this weekend so Chris Richardson will stand in as captain. Please display the same enthusiasm and respect you all show me in the field and assist whenever possible with set up and practice etc. Lifts are still to be arranged and hopefully will get posted here though Id suggest an 11 leave from Roseburn. Given that Ian has copied my hilarious team posting concept i feel the need to be extra special this week but failed. This week with the Ashes in full swing its alphabetical to England and Australia player look-a-like-ishes Andrew Flintoff - Chris Richardson (sort of) Charlotte Edwards - Lea Tsui (err woman cricketer) David Boon - Neil Cameron (nuff said) Dean Jones - Iain Martin (it's the mullet) Jimmy Anderson - Paul Leonard (it's a swing thing) Merv Hughes - Rob Fotheringham (Ill leave that one to you) Mitchell Johnson - Gijs Kargert (left arm not the erraticness) Phil Tufnell - Irfan Mahmud (often found sleeping) Shane Watson - Graham Watson (err the Watson thing) WG Grace - Don Wilkie (roughtly the same age) TBC - Gary Pratt just to wind Ricky up While last week was immensely frustrating the Peebles defeat reopens the promotion race with us just ahead of Dunfermline and playing Peebles next week. Up the Mufs CB

WG Grace - top batsman who can't be given lbw in case the spectators riot? Good point. That was a bad example, maybe i should have used Glenn McGrath, for his batting.

LARGONIAN ALIEN INVASION REPELLED! The citizens of Planet Mufs can sleep more easily at least for another week as the invaders from Largo were finally repelled in in galactic and epic battle at Roseburn.... www.murrayfield-dafscc.co.uk/images/largo attacks.jpg Division 1 at Roseburn Park Murrayfield-DAFS CC (20 points) beat Largo (12 points) by 1 run MDAFS 217 all out off 48 overs. Largo 216 for 6 off 50 overs MDAFS re-discovered some semblance of batting form at last with a 90 run opening stand between Danny Abrahams (53) and Paul Hubbard (26) before the wheels came off a bit until a 73 run 5th wicket stand between Luke Hayes (65) and Ian Shiels (23) rescued us. Just as we thought we might bat out 50 overs the wheels fell off again with us bowled out after 48 overs. Wicket takers for the Largonians: Nick Rintoul with 3-42, Chris Barclay with 4-25 and Bob Mowat with 3-38. Largo's spirited run chase was headed by an excellent 112 by Ben Stinson, who's unlucky run-out was perhaps pivotal to the outcome (slipped half-way down the track on the 5th ball of the 49th over). 8 required off the last over and 4 off the final ball - but Tall Raj did the business, Scotty kept his nerve in the field to ensure a 3rd run (for a tie) was not taken and we squeaked home in what was an absolute must-win for MDAFS. Raj D (1-33), Raja S (1-28) and Scotty (1-49) took 1 wicket each - the other 3 wickets were run outs. Excellent game played in good spirit. Next week Mufs Starship Troopers travel across the deepest depths of space and time to the Fauldhouse system home of many bizarre and exotic species.
