Hi all A reminder that Sunday sees our SCU Trophy quarter final against a North of Scotland Cricket Association Select XI. It's a 50 over a side game at Roseburn starting at 12 noon (early start agreed so that our Highland visitors can get home before midnight!). Should be a good day so if you're not playing then come along and watch. Still a handful of places up for grabs so if you haven't already confirmed your availability to me, please get in touch and there may be a place for you. Usual contact details - 07876 673320 or imsorryihavent@cluemail.com. Cheers Tom

Hi again
Some late but unavoidable withdrawals mean we're still looking for three players for Sunday. If you're available and keen then please do let me know - even if you don't normally think of yourself as 1st team material! Could be a good chance to test yourself at a higher level. We'll play hard and play to win, but will be a bit less pressurised than the league environment and will be a good fun game to play.
Currently we have:
1. Tom Wheeler (c) 2. Paul Hubbard (w) 3. Mangesh Akerkar 4. Jean-Pierre Cruz Rocha 5. Luke Hayes 6. Chris Donaldson 7. Sunny Dahiya 8. Heath Batwell
Hope to hear from others - your club needs you!
Cheers Tom

If it is possible to enjoy losing, then I enjoyed today. Good match, played in good spirit; it came down to the last ball and we came second only by virtue of NoSCA losing fewer wickets.
Fabulous performance by all involved. Everyone played a part and it was great to see concentration and effort extending throughout both our own and the opposition innings. Saturday league teams should take note.

Hear hear. As soon as the winning (or rather tying) run was scored I told everyone on the team that I was extremely proud to have captained them - a credit to the club in performance, attitude and behaviour. For what on paper was a weakened side - but on the pitch was anything but - then to run a very strong NoSCA side so close was a tremendous effort. Hope everyone else enjoyed the day as much as Hubbs and I did.
Best of luck to NoSCA for the rest of the competition - a talented and thoroughly nice bunch, and we'll keep in contact with them with a view to a possible post-season tour one year.
Thanks to all those who came to support and help out, and particularly to Iain M - official MDCC King of Catering - for his sterling efforts all day.

As Paul said, all 11 players played significant parts and looked entirely at home against a high quality side. Very well done all.
Cheers Tom
