The 4s look to get back to winning ways after last weeks first loss since the opening game of the season, with a game against Edinburgh South 2s. While this is a home game the 2s and 3s are at Roseburn so we will be playing at the delightful Campbell Park on GRASS. The ground is just inside the Edinburgh City Bypass past Collinton Village. The postcode is EH13 0HT and there is a small cut in the hedge to get access from Campbell Park Crescent but take care not to park in front of anyones drive. I will be going from Murrayfield by car so let me know if you need a lift. Please arrive prompt for 12:45. Map here - maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=EH130ht&sll=55.950176,-3.187536&sspn=0.698954,1.389771&ie=UTF8&ll=55.903733,-3.254013&spn=0.021868,0.059738&z=15 Please ensure you have read the notes from the captains published on the forum over the last couple of weeks as itll assist me greatly on the day. mufs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=334Team (in numerical order of your mobile number). Irfan Mahmud Neil Cameron Hardeep Singh Owen Kelly Gurjeet Singh Chris Brown (c) Rob Fotheringham Charlotte Bascombe (w) Chris Richardson Don Wilkie Brad Mowat There was all round good availability this week so apologies to Drew and Leah for missing out, and thanks for your patience, understanding and willingness to be on standby. This is an artificial wicket so no spikes please. Many thanks to Edinburgh Leisure who worked into the night to get the changing rooms attended and open from 12noon tomorrow. Cheers Iain

The 4s lost heavily against Edinburgh South but it could all have been so different with Neil Cameron taking a wicket with the 3rd ball and skipper Broon taking 2 opening from the other end. 2 chances then went begging before the rain arrived with the score on 7/3. However with the bowlers slipping and sliding along their run ups and the (frankly rubbish) wet ball and outfield the score was moved onto 121 until the next wicket fell with Sohail Rupani going bowled by Deep for 35. Irfan collected the wicket of Chapman but that brought De Silva to the crease and they put on 46 in 7 before Lal and De Silva both went for 55. That meant the ex-Mitre had got to 219 off their 40 overs which was far to many given the predicament they were in. Brad Mowat showed good, but unrewarded, promise on debut but suffered in his last over. Again Mufs bowled too many wides with no one more guilty than the skipper, with 11 from his total of 16 runs, from the total of 31. Unfortunately the weather then played its evil hand again with the 30 minute deluge over tea making the Campbell Park wicket a soggy mess. The ball which had come onto the bat beautifully before tea now barely climbed off the track and it was all credit to Irfan that he managed to eek out 35 runs. Chief wicket taker was Vardhan with 4 for 24 and the Southsiders were excellent in the field. Quickly it became a chase of bonus points and the 1st for 50 runs only came up in the 22nd over and the 2nd for 70, courtesy of a wide in the 28th with 8 wicket down. Rob and the Skipper managed to smack a few at the end with Rob last man out for 6 and Broon not out on 8, with the score on 92. That all meant a 127 run defeat and thoughts of what could have been without the rain. However most displeasing was the fact our heads dropped early on when catches and edges were missed, despite we still has a fantastic advantage with 3 men back in the hutch.
