Hi all
Here's the team for Tuesday's Cow Corner game at the Lewisvale ground in Musselburgh. Transport arrrangements to follow by text to those playing, but will be leaving from Murrayfield or central Edinburgh around 5pm for a 6.15pm start.
1. Tom Wheeler (c) 2. Paul Hubbard (w) 3. Asif Mohammed 4. Raj Devanagere 5. Phil Rogers 6. Adam Scott 7. Melvyn Clench 8. Jean-Pierre Cruz Rocha 9. Luke Hayes 10. Mangesh Akerkar 11. Sunny Dahiya
Big performance required if we're to have a chance of retaining our trophy, against a strong side that's been winning regularly in Div 3 this year. Best of luck all.
Cheers Tom

Just about recovered from this:
MDCC 147 for 5 (20 overs; M.Akerkar 83*, N.Bhaktar 2-37) Musselburgh 144 for 9 (20 overs; E.Gatner 46*, N.Bhaktar 24, JP Cruz Rocha 4-27, P.Rogers 1-17, A.Scott 1-18, M.Clench 1-23)
Stats don't begin to tell the story of a thrilling game - Maggy dropped first ball before going on to smash 83 not out, giving him a career Cow Corner average of approximately 250 (!). Mangesh nearly perished just after going to 50, but the fielder (sorry, don't know who) was carried over the boundary by his momentum after taking a stunning Kyle Coetzer-style one handed catch. Good support and excellent running by Phil Rogers at the end - think Maggy has just about got his breath back now.
The hosts went for the runs from the start and remained up with the rate despite regular loss of wickets. Excellent ground fielding from Luke, JP, Sunny and others kept us in the game, then the penultimate over from JP saw three wickets and a huge six, leaving Musselburgh needing 9 from Melv's last over.
Great bowling and fielding under pressure - save for a "tactical" overthrow from the second last ball - left number 11 Akshay (not that one) needing four from the final ball to win, but Melv zipped it past the outside edge and victory was complete.
Thanks to Mark and the Musselburgh guys for a brilliant game played in fantastic spirit. Can't see that team staying in Division 3 for long. Look forward to the return fixture in the Parks next Wednesday.
Cheers Tom
