Hi
After another 3 out of 4 last week it feels like the club is rolling in the right direction. Lets keep the pressure up on ourselves and the opposition.
This weeks games are:
1s v Glenrothes at Roseburn 2s v Falkland 2s at Sgroggie Park 3s v Edinburgh South at Roseburn 4s v Preston Village 2s at the Polwarth Oval
We're now far enough into the season that everyone should be letting the captains know about availability either on Saturdays at the games or for those not playing by Monday evening. If anyone hasn't done that for this weekend please do so immediately.

Hi all
Well said Mr Broon. If you're ever in any doubt that the captains know your availability, please get in touch with one of us to clarify. We don't bite. (Well, not very often at least, we normally get Don to do it for us. As long as he's remembered to put his teeth in, that is.)
Now where was I...oh yes, 1s team to play Glenrothes at Roseburn on Saturday, meet 12pm please for 1pm start. Anyone wanting some bowling machine practice beforehand please let me know and we'll see what we can sort out.
In no particular order:
1. Tom Wheeler (c) 2. Ian Shiels (vc) 3. Paul Hubbard (wk) 4. Jigar Patel 5. Sutha Rangaswamy 6. Luke Hayes 7. Raj Davanagere 8. Melvyn Clench 9. Raja Sampath 10. Jean-Pierre Cruz Rocha 11. Asif Mohammed
Time for 1s to break their Roseburn duck for the season, and as a club let's try to go one better than the last two weeks and make it four wins out of four for MDCC. Best of luck to all.
Cheers Tom

Okay, I guess that's me at fine leg both ends!?!?! See you at PV Good luck everyone - let's make it a 4 win Saturday

I suspect, skipper, that 'Christopher Richardson' scores more than Chris Richardson and therefore more than your own moniker 1. My email refers to my Sunday name so i get full points for that and i'm also registered with ESCA as such. Chris R is registered under Chris. I win. 2. Correct fine leg.

Here is the 3s result:
Edinburgh South 212ao (34 overs) MUFS 174ao (44.3 overs)
MUFS lost by 38 runs.
Bowling
S Coull 9-0-57-1 D Clifford 9-0-25-0 D Simpson 4-0-37-1 J Gordon 9-2-36-4 A Venkatesh 4-1-36-0 H Collin 3-0-15-4
Batting
D Kidd 20 P Hawkins 21 C Banks 15 A Venkatesh 0 V D'souza 1 A Lacey 45 S Coull 0 D Clifford 8 D Simpson 16* J Gordon 13 H Collin 1
Good game which ebbed and flowed all day. We let them get 25 runs to many but after the start they had looked as if we would be chasing close to 300.
Great effort to take maximum losing points from game as they all count and should keep us top despite loss.

1s result from Roseburn: Glenrothes 201 ao (49.4 overs - B.Honeyman 93*, G.Hopcroft 34, R.Devanagere 4-34, R.Sampath 2-23, J-P Cruz Rocha 2-23) MDAFS 136 ao (38.2 overs - L.Hayes 44, I.Shiels 21, J.Scott 4-17, M.Boyd 4-19) Disappointing day to say the least. A combination of excellent batting from Honeyman, a mixed bag of bowling and several dropped catches allowed Glens to get past the 200 mark. Despite a 50 opening partnership from the trusty trio of Shiels, Hubbard and Extras, plus an excellent 44 from Luke, playing through the pain barrier of a split finger (mind, if you catch the ball it doesn't hurt you... ), we kept losing wickets in clumps, Scott and Boyd doing the damage - Mike Boyd in particular finding the "spot" on the Roseburn pitch that caused the ball to shoot low into the base of middle stump. One to get out of the system by next week in time for what should be an enjoyable trip to Largo. Congrats to Glenrothes on a deserved win, and lets get back on track, in a variety of senses, for next week. Tom

The 4s provided the only joy of the day for Mufs by winning their 3rd game in a row, beating Preston Village 2s by 6 wicket. A very tidy bowling performance restrict PV to 106 all out. The early innings pressure from Neil Cameron (4-0-10-0) and Vamshi (5-3-2-0) was unrewarded but was causing problem and the tied down openers. Broon bowled 8 unchanged and took out the top 2 finishing with 2-0-25-2. Paul Leonard (6-0-20-3) and Gurjeet (3.5-0-10-3) tidied up the tail with a wicket each for both Marcus and Owen. This was an excellent fielding show with not a single misfield, excellent wicket keeping and all 3 of the chances offered were taken, especially given the baking heat and bouncy wicket. More importantly the regular wicket tking preveented any momentum and saved us 8 overs when they were all out. In reply the 4s got off to a great start with Marcus Lyall's first 5 scoring shots all going for 4, and when he was eventually out for 38 the game looked won. Graham (11) and Chris Richardson (21) played great knocks and were then backed up with Neil Cameron scoring 8 and Vamshi hitting a unbeaten 18. Again it was controlled and sometimes explosive batting that kept Mufs well ahead of the run rate and the game was won in the 29th over. the 4s now have 66 points from 80 and 82.5% from the 4 games.
