Midweek Friendly v Scotsman - Wed 20th

Availability for this game on Wed 20 May at Roseburn against The Scotsman Publications CC.

By their own omission they are a (very) social level team - and would rather not face our "top" players. So more suitable for those amongst our 3s/4s and our own more social level or beginner level players.
You know what I mean... in any case there's a cup game on Tues anyway for the "elite".

Note I am playing for the auld gits team, the XL CC (40s club), in Glasgow that day, so there will need to be not only a celeb captain but on the eve organiser of bodies, late call-offs, kit , access to armoury/pavillion, match fee collection etc etc.

An experimental Mufs XI lost to the Scotsman by 21 runs. The members of the 4th estate posted 101-5 off their 16 overs. Wickets for Kelly, Barker, Willis and Humphries with Vipond (26) and Fernandez (28) batting very well including a couple into the river.

Mufs in reply lost regular wickets and in the gathering gloom and increasingly heavy rain managed to get to 80 for 6 with Graham Watson having retired for 26.

Apart from that it was fairly uneventful apart from one of our Ned friends doing a rather pathetic streak.
