After last weeks disappointing defeat at Drummond Trinity our first home game sees a local derby against Holy Cross 4s. The game is on the artificial wicket so NO Spikes please. If anyone needs some rubber studs to swap in for their spikes several local shops sell them including Aitken and Niven for £2.
There is plently of setting up required for a home game so please arrive at Roseburn for 12:45 which will also allow us time for a warm up and prompt start. Last man there gets to collect the flags back in afterwards.
Team (in the order I remembered you were playing)
Chris Brown (c) Charlotte Bascombe (vc + w) Adeel Raza Russell Beretta Anand Venkatesh Neil Cameron Vamshi Sunki Graham Watson Chris Richardson Lindsay Towns Don Wilkie
Owen has fallen victim to some sort of flu (;-o) so Adeel step in. Rob Fotheringham remains on batting standby should any further changes be required. Thanks Rob.
Everyone has now confirmed so thanks for your prompt reply on that.
To make my life easier please have your £6 (£3 for Charlotte) match fee ready in change so its one less thing to worry about. Charlotte will be collecting this on ARRIVAL.
If there is an issue with the weather please bear in mind we are playing on the artificial wicket and therefore may well be able to play even if it has rained earlier in the day. If you dont hear from me the assume the game is on and arrive as normal.
Thanks
CB

MDAFS1 beat Edinburgh Academicals by 39 runs at a lively Newfield on Sunday. Having limped to 104 ao off 44 overs (JP a fine 26 not, Belly a marathon 18, Luke 13 and Raj D 11) having lost early wickets, MDAFS sensed they had given themselves an outside chance if we bowled really well and took early wickets. That indeed was the case with Raj Sampath and Melv Clench were in sensational form with the ball as the Accies top and middle order was routed - Raj 4 wkts and Melv 3. JP kept the pressure on with 2 wickets plus a wicket for Tall Raj. A fantastic victory given our poor batting performance.
MDAFS 104 ao off 44.4 overs. J-P Cruz Rocha 26 not, I Shiels 18, L Hayes 13. A Carmichael 4-11, K Woodmansey 4-25.
Edinburgh Academicals 65 ao off 34.4 overs. A Moffat 15, P Taylor 11. M Clench 3-12, Raj Sampath 4-28.
