Although the ol saying "you can't please everybody..." applies we would like to raise the issue of what evening is best for the outdoor practices we have at Roseburn Park which have been traditionally held on a Monday from 6pm onwards. Is another evening better? A later start? Given the investment we have made in this facility the attendance at times was very poor. Also thoughts on what prevents you coming down? What puts you off? What would you suggest? We would all love to do more drills and targeted/selected practice but it can be hard to plan give the lottery of who will turn up! Note before you moan, the area around the bowling ends has been worked on to level it out (thanks to Don and Nick) plus we plan to lift and re-roll the batting ends etc.

Although Mondays are not my favourite night, I really dont think we have a lot of choice for the following reasons:
Tuesdays: Not possible as on most Tuesdays a game is being played on the Artificial wicket - - health and safety issue therefore.
Wednesdays: A bit late for selection meeting and selection communications
Thursdays: Games on artificials again?
Fridays: No injury recovery time...but not a bad option otherwise
What does everyone else think?

Having the net sessions later in the week might make selection slightly easier as people will have a clearer idea of whether or not they are available (if you have several "don't knows" on a monday the teams might not be finalised till later in the week anyway)
The point about netting with games on the artificial are valid however we could always put some netting up (i.e. the old nets) and give the batsmen throw downs - something we should be doing anyway.
