Hi folks, On Saturday 6 September I’ll be attempting the Cairngorm Mountain Bike Challenge – 100km mostly off-road through the Scottish Highlands to raise money for the HBOS Foundation Million £ Challenge. Last year the event raised over £500,000 - the largest single donation. All funds raised will be matched £ for £ by the HBOS foundation and donated to: CLIC Sargent (caring for children with cancer); Age Concern & Diabetes UK. The causes are all really worthwhile...so if you can find some spare cash then please use the link below to make a donation www.smartgive.com/showpublicevent.php?url=TheLairigGhruliesOh yes, and for anyone who has noticed my rigorous summer training regime based mostly in the Murrayfield Hotel bar… I believe medical help will be available throughout the event! Hopefully my 3 team mates (not quite sure why we called ourselves The Lairig Ghrulies) will be up for giving me a tow... Cheers, Paul

That's my donation done son.
As for the training regime, someone should probably have mentioned earlier that the Michael Phelps diet doesn't really work unless it's combined with his metabolism and exercise schedule...

Hi huge thanks to those who've sponsored the team so far - forecast appears to be damp and windy, ideal for cycling up mountains... I believe (not sure how it will work) that our progress can be followed here: siera.sportident.co.uk/cmbc/Thankfully no sign of video footage though.. Good luck to anyone on the Argyll tour - hope it stays dry Cheers, Paul
