Hi all 1s team to play Edinburgh Accies at Newfield on Saturday. Huge game this, we're dead level with them in the league at the moment so a win would keep us right there in the mix at the top and put some clear ground between us and them. Meet 12pm at Newfield please. A link to a location map is below, but it's dead easy to find anyway - it's just opposite the Edinburgh Academy junior school where we had our winter net practices. Or, for those who weren't around this winter, it's a bit further down Arboretum Road from Holy Cross's ground. www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=323999&y=675648&z=1&sv=323999,675648&st=OSGrid&lu=N&tl=~&ar=y&bi=~&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf In no particular order then: 1. Tom Wheeler (c) 2. Ian Shiels (vc) 3. Paul Hubbard (w) 4. Vimal d'Souza 5. Sutha Rangaswamy 6. Regan Black 7. Mohammed Asif 8. Melvyn Clench 9. Raj Sampath 10. Jean-Pierre Cruz Rocha 11. Mangesh Akerkar Good luck to all four teams for Saturday. Here's hoping for sunshine (remember that?). Cheers Tom

Lets not beat around the bush here. MUFS 3s, Kicked. Ass. No two ways about it.
On a pitch tailor made for messers Allan, Simpson and Collins, Boroughmuir (having won the toss) batted first and were 32 all out. And, guess what? The aforementioned Allan took 4-10, Simpson took the top order apart with 3-11 and Mr. Collins finished it off with 2-1.
Slight wobble in the chase as we lost 4 wickets getting the runs but comfortable enough in the end. Chris Banks and Irfan Mahmud getting most of them but scores are not to hand.
Well done to all, in particular the 3 bowlers mentioned.

Congrats Stuart and all in MUFS 3 for a great win.
Unfortunately, MUFS 2 continued its poor run. Having bowled Livingston for 122 (exactly same as Boroughmuir in the early part of season), the chase gone exactly the same way (ward) with MUFS2 all out for 58 (1 less than B'muir) at the end of 23 overs.

Division 1 at Newfield - Match Reduced to 40 overs
Murrayfield DAFS 131-9 40 overs (Paul Hubbard 39*, Mangesh Akerkar 36; Matt Roskell 4-22, Kean Woodmansey 2-32, Andrew Cosh 2-38)
lost to
Edinburgh Academy 132-5 off 34.2 overs (Mick Raso 39, Stuart Moffat 33; Raj Sampath 3-28, Tom Wheeler 2-29)
MDAFS 8pts Accies 20pts
Not enough runs for MDAFS on as poor a Newfield track as I have ever seen - this used to be a batting paradise? Great last flourish from OMH as he takes 21 off the last Accies over to get us up to something partially competitive but it proved insufficient against a tough Accies batting unit. Simply not good enough application by MDAFS batters - some dismissals not helped by the pitch sure, but some just down to sheer rank shot selection. Possible comedy dismissal moment nomination maybe for Accies pro Mick Raso trying to reverse sweep Tom and being fired out LBW.
Scores for MFL:
Batting: Ian Shiels 0 Regan Black 1 Mangesh Akerkar 36 JP Cruz-Rocha 2 Raj Sampath 9 Vimal D'Souza 4 Asif Mohammed 14 Sutha Rangaswamy 1 Paul Hubbard 39* Tom Wheeler 13 Melv Clench 0*
Bowling: Melv Clench 8-1-18-0 Raj Sampath 8-2-28-3 JP Cruz Rocha 7.2-0-34-0 Tom Wheeler 8-3-29-2 Mangesh Akerkar 1-0-7-0 Asif Mohammed 2-0-8-0
