Just been on the Watsons website and it says we're at Craiglockhart rather than Myreside. Not quite the same, but still a good track (just ask Richie Sorrell) and a cracking place to play. No sign of Mr Breach in their side either! www.watsoniancricket.co.uk/second.phpUpdate on location....
The ground is found from going up Craiglockhart Terrace - off Colinton Rd - basically it is over the railway line from the main Watsons Myreside ground.

For anyone playing for the 1s who doesn't know how to find the ground, those nice people at Boroughmuir have got directions to Craiglockhart on their website. www.zen113898.zen.co.uk/BCC/pages/nets.htmlGood luck to all 4 teams for the weekend.

For the benefit of Boris et al I did my back in by facing one ball last week in the rain. Apparently it was funny. Basically I swung, missed, the bat slipped out of my hands (and hit Charlotte) and I was stumped while staggering forward like an arthritic old man.

A frustrating day all round as the Ones clash at Craiglockhart/Myreside v Watsonians 2s was cancelled just as we rocked up. A load of spilled catches cost the Twos at Muirhouse as Westquarter and Redding with 176-6 off 50 overs (H.Mumtaz 43, R.Sutton 38*, T.Bashir 35, Mohammed Asif 2-42) beat MDCC2 with 125 a.o. (Mark Williamson 30, C.Fox 4-16, S.Farooqui 3-20, S.Fox 3-21). Threes threw away a promising position with the bat to slump to 117 ao, then had Edinburgh Accies 2 on 95??-9 but still could not force victory.
As ever when times are tough, the teams need to dig in and work that extra bit harder. Too many wickets are being gifted to the opposition - make them work harder for your wicket!

Despite a Nadeem century (131?) MDCC4s suffer narrow loss as Largo chase down 213 (or so?) with 3 balls and 2 wickets left. Some comeback as they had been 6-5 at one point.
Meanwhile MDCC Sunday XI (171 off 40) defeat Comrie (86ao) at Muirhouse.

I completely agree with Ian and would like to add that a lack of intensity in the field throughout both the sessions is costing us the game (especially 2s). When batting, we are not putting price to our wicket and giving it more often than opposition bowlers taking it. When bowling we are giving away too many extras (average being 2.5 times the opposition) and not really catching well. With the kind of talent around we can greatly enhance our performance with a little bit of work on temperament and a lot of practice. It is still early in the season but we will have to start winning before it is too late.
My above comments are mainly based around 3 matches played by MUFS 2.
