Hello again, here is the 1s team for this Saturday's away game vs Kelburne CC of Paisley, in no particular order:
1 - Melvyn Clench (Capt) 2 - Ian Shiels (Vice) 3 - Paul Hubbard (Wkt) 4 - Danny Abraham 5 - Raj Sampath 6 - Tom Wheeler 7 - Jean-Pierre Cruz Rocha 8 - Manan Patel 9 - Siva Jeyahanthan 10 - Mangesh Akerkar 11 - Adam Scott
The meet is at the Murrayfield Hotel at 11am. Its another early start for this one but it should be easier to get to than Dumfries. Drivers are needed so please tell me if you can take people in your car and you will be richly rewarded for your efforts with fine words and low denomination coinage!
From what I've seen of their website, they look like a good club with a long history and a picturesque ground. They play their cricket in Division 1 of the Western Union and they finished 2nd in the league last year, just like us. So, sounds like a tough game and perfect preparation for the resumption of hostilities vs Heriots the following Saturday. Let's hope the weather smiles on us and we can once again anoint our whites in the sweet sweet tears of our vanquished enemies. Failing that, some grass stains would suffice! Go Mufs.

Just shows how appearances can be slightly deceptive - Kelburne Ground is not far at all from the once (ok - a few hundred times) notorious Ferguslie Park area of Paisley - made Muirhouse look like Barnton. Ground is ok though and the track has been very good in the past - even in April (all relative!) Ground is also right below Royal Alexandra Hospital so any hypothermia victims can be wheeled up the hill and into the warmth of the concourse! All the best

Just got off the phone with the chap at Kelburne CC and at the moment the game is on - I REPEAT, THE GAME IS ON!!! He said that the pitch looks good, the covers are on and, barring any major unexpected downpours between now and Saturday, the stage is set for a great 40 over game at a lovely ground against some quality opposition.
Its like sweet music to my ears. Without wanting to tempt fate, I think we are actually going to play some cricket!

3s/4s Vs Dalgety Bay at Roseburn Artificial : Team so far David Bishton Chris Donaldson Nick Hill Sandeep Modi Chris Richardson William Sneddon Graham Watson Don Wilkie Paul Leonard Pranay Ahluwalia Ed Long Lindsay Towns Andy Piggott Asif Mohammed Marcus Lyall
12:00 start – would recommend spikes for all those who have them, the outfield is looking a little muddy.. As mentioned elsewhere, the nets will be set up so all are welcome and should get a game/ practice of some sort. Good luck all

You lazy lot, all off down the pub and not bothering to spend your Saturday evening doing cricket scores? Ashamed of you I am, as Yoda may say. Were he interested in cricket scores.
M-DAFS 3(ish) Vs Largo 2 M-DAFS 206 for 7 from 45 overs (N. Amjid 58, R. Black 48, C. Banks 33*; M. Sneddon 2-18, A. Robertson 2-31)
Largo 83ao from 43.4 overs (R. Ealand 22, R. Tooze 15; Siva 2-1, N. Amjid 2-3, M. Williamson 2-19)
Thanks to everyone for the big effort in todays Arctic conditions, especially the lads from Largo who travelled to Roseburn and stayed for a drink after the game.
The 4s bowled Dalgetty Bay out for 130 odd and won by 3 wickets. The 1s had a close game with Kelburne but came second.

Not sure why MGGW refers to it as a 3ish XI - it were meant to be called a 2/3s ! And also 3/4s not 4s - in case anyone thinks they had been 'dropped'!!
At Kelburne Oval, Paisley: M-DAFS 1s 155-9 off 40 overs (J.P.Cruz-Rocha 47, R.Sampath 37, I.Shiels 17; R.McLean 3-3, I.Bennett 2-21.)
Kelburne 156-7 off 40 overs (I.Butt 75, J.McDonald 23no, S.O'Connell 18, D.Campbell 12 no; R.Sampath 2-14, JP Cruz-Rocha 2-25)
Mufs Man of the Match: Jean-Pierre Cruz Rocha as voted by players - Raj close second.
Amazing finish as the Kelburne lads snatch victory with 15 runs off the final over set up with a stonking straight 6 off the first ball by young Campbell.. Great spirited game - lovely ground and a good bunch of lads - so repeat visit for next year pencilled in already!
