Your chance to predict this weekend's weather. What do you think? Hurricanes? Snow?

Despite having done my MSc dissertation in automated rainfall prediction techniques I'm none the wiser! Although I do recommend www.metcheck.com

Wow, what a monster site for seasoned (or should that be sickened) weather-watchers, ta Big Pav.

My prediction: The area of low pressure which brought strong winds, heavy rain and showers to many areas over the weekend is now pushing North and later North-west as it drifts slowly towards Iceland.
As a result, it's going to rain like a b@st@rd forever more.

Being a part-metereological (in Geography) graduate I have a full weather station at home and would you believe my part of Livingston had 33mm of rain between midday (when I left for Muirhouse) and 7pm!!! Thats just 12mm of the months average rainfall. In June i recorded 127mm of rain - 3 times Junes average The average temperature just struggled over 15 degrees (Average 17.1) The stats dont lie! Which is bad news because July and August are statistically the wettest months in Edinburgh .

Its a wonderful collection of Muffers that we have.
I have always thought we should have a celebrity Patron - do you think we should approach Heather the Weather? Or Dustn Hoffman (The Rain Man), or Sharon Stone (....errrrrr)

Iain gets my nomination for the 'biggest weather nerd' award at the muftas this year for that shocking display of statistical diarrhoea. For shame!

I think John Kettley should be our patron as he is by far the best weather person!

Nets are ON for tonight. Provided the sun stays out!
I'm surprised that June is statistically dryer than July and August as it always seems that June is the most likely month for games to be rained off. Perhaps statto can provide some evidence to further his claim for the newest Mufta?
