[glow=red,2,300]Div 4[/glow] Murrayfield-Dafs 2 Vs Grange 4 at Muirhouse
Grange 4 - 54ao from 28.4 overs (I. Gordon 16, C. Fraser 14, A. Turnbull 7; T. Simpson 5-21, T. Wheeler 2-0, N. Allan 2-10) Murrayfield-Dafs 2 - 55-2 from 9.4 overs (R. Black 21, D. Kidd 17, S. Rangaswamy 7*; A. Collister 1-9, C. Fraser 1-17)
Mufs 2 (20) beat Grange 4 (1) by 8 wickets.
Thanks to the lads from Grange for a fun game in less than perfect weather conditions. They have some very promising young players, and all played the game in good spirits.
Mufs move up to 66 points from 7 games 47.14%. Probably not enough to catch Holy Cross or the Uni Staff, but closing the gap...

Congratulations to the 2's for a solid win in the rain at muirhouse. Good performances with the ball from Stu Coull (5 overs, 1 for not many), Norm Allan (9.4 overs, 1 for 10), Tom Wheeler (2 overs, 2 maidens, 2 for none) and especially a rampant Tony Simpson with 5 wickets (4 bowled, 1 caught and bowled, fielders not required!) including 3 wickets in a 4-ball spell that tore the guts out of Grange like a plate of bad seafood (just ask Chris Banks!) Great effort from the lads to reduce Grange to 54 all out in less than 30 overs.
Daz and Reagan opened aggresively for MUFS and were the first batsmen to find the boundary all day, Reagan with 3 well-timed 4's to different parts of the leg side and Daz with a large 6 off a waist -high no-ball. If he hadn't been using that awful piece of condemned zulu timber from the 2's kitbag it would probably have gone for 10! The two openers sailed past the 40-run mark in the 6th over, audaciously running difficult singles where lesser mortals would have taken 3, before both were out playing attacking shots, Daz for 17 to a very good low catch at midwicket and Reagan bowled for 21. This left Lindsay and Sutha to mop up the remaining runs, 55 for 2 in less than 10 overs, a well-earned 8-wicket triumph. Credit to Grange for playing the game in an excellent spirit, not a complaint to be heard despite virtually the whole game being played in some degree of rain.
With 20 points in the bag before tea was ready, it was back to the clubhouse for pies, wet quiche and a jug of Muirhouse's finest sports lager provided by man of the match Tony Simpson. Good work fellas, keep playing to that standard and the relegation dogfight should be a cakewalk. Here's to seeing a lot more of Tony's jugs!

A special thanks to guest scorer Fuzzy Melv, guest umpire, drinks and sawdust faciltator Mr Belly (weather clearly too wet for Reggie Shark), and celebrity Barmy Army of One Willie Ritchie.
Nice to have you along for the support!
