After last weekend's total washout, let's hope for some better weather this weekend!
On Saturday, 1s are at home to Livingston (1 win and 1 loss so far 62.5%) and the 3s are home to Musselburgh 2 (also 1 win and 1 loss 72.5%). Our 2s play on Sunday this week, and are away to Grange 4 (2 losses 2.5%), playing at Fettes - a ground we've not played at for a few years, if ever!
Good luck to all involved - let's hope our 1s can maintain their position at the top of the table, and that the 2s and 3s can emulate their success!

Good to see teamsheets being published on here.....means the Treasurer can see who is playing and cross reference with those who have paid their subs.
Anyone picked who hasn't yet done so is reminded that the subscription year starts in January and all bar new members have thus had over four months to pay them.
Match Fees do not cover all our expenses - that's why we have annual subscriptions and why non-members' match fees are more than for members.
It can be awkward for Captains to continually chase people to pay their subs - so please pay them before you are asked.
Likewise match fees - it gets very dull having to chase people week in and week out for current and outstanding match fees (to say nothing of making my job extremely difficult). You know you have to pay, so do so promptly. I will be chasing Captains to ensure that anyone who has not yet paid annual subs for this year pays the non-members match fee for all games from now on.
Ultimately, the Club Constitution places a responsibility on the Selection Committee to pick members ahead of non-members.....something that we don't really want to do as we want to play the strongest teams we can in league games, but I hope you all can see that it is not fair on someone who HAS paid his subs to not get a game when others who have not are playing.
And now back to the cricket...

Directions for Sunday www.fettes.com/road.htm Having turned into the main school gates off East Fettes Avenue, you should turn right within about 50 yards at the 'No Right Turn' sign !! By following that track, you will find yourself at the pavilion ; there is limited parking there but more on the sides of the various tracks round about. Mufs 1 v Livy 1 at a blowy Muirhouse.
Livy 1 - 167-9 S Lang 57, I Murdoch 28, S Aslam 25. M Clench 2-15, A Kulkarni 2-16, K Lawrence 2-36. A well worked 5th wicket stand of 62 between Stuart Lang and Iain Murdoch was crucial for Livy and Mufs were left to rue a number of half-chances not taken.
Mufs 1 - 146ao - S Jeyahanthan 22, A Scott 21, D Abraham 20. Jim Wilson with 10-2-4-15 strangled our innings in the final phase, young Hamad Ahmed looked good for his 2-20 and, although wicketless, Iain Thompson bowled a super spell for Livy. Most Mufs batters got a start - just need someone to go on. Need to work better at picking up the singles on a tricky surface as well as going for the big shots.
Mufs a little off colour compared to previous 2 weeks but fair dos to Livy who played the conditions better than us and deserved their win.
Mufs stay joint second with Carlton on 80% behind Heriots who are on 100%.
