[glow=blue,2,300] Kirk Brae Vs MUFS 2 at Double Hedges[/glow] MUFS 2 - 72ao 22 overs (C. Banks 20, A. Lacey 15; R. Mort 4-15, G. Lynch 3-12) Kirk Brae - 74-4 13.3 overs (T. Wilson 22, D. Sangster 19*; S. Coull 2-29, M. Ward 1-14) Kirk Brae (20) beat MUFS (2) by 6 wickets Kirk Brae won the toss and elected to bowl, and their openers quickly caused mayhem amongst the Mufs batters, Lynch taking 3-12 with excellent pace, and Kirkland contributing 1-26 with his inswing to leave Mufs struggling at 27-4. A small recovery by Chris Banks (20) and Andy Lacey (15) took Mufs to 53-5, but with the sixth wicket falling on 67 the last five wickets went for just 5 runs, Mort taking 4-15 and Kirk Brae skipper Sangster 2-11. Mufs all out for 72, missing what could be a vital batting point by just 3 runs. Mufs fought back bravely to try to defend what was far too small a total, Stuart Coull having opener Cooke caught behind by andy Lacey off his first ball, and then trapping the other opener, Colvin, lbw in his second over to reduce Kirk Brae to 15-2 within four overs. Tony also took one wicket, squaring Rive up to offer a catch to Lindsay Towns at cover. Top scorer for the day was Wilson, who made 22 before being LBW to the Mufs skipper. A dropped catch off what proved to be the penultimate ball deprived Mufs of a third bowling point, Kirk Brae winning by 6 wickets. A very disappointing performance against a strong team, and one which we must improve on. But, in saying that, we were not alone with such a small total as, also in Div 4, Holy Cross were bowled out for 112 by Kismet (who we play next week), Watsons were 89ao against Preston Village, and Grange were 32ao to Clacks.
