We've had some poor turn-outs lately in the pub. Does anybody have any ideas for a social night out that more people would fancy coming to?
It doesn't have to involve drinking (although it wouldn't hurt!), could be tenpin bowling, eating, hang-gliding, fox hunting, arson. Doesn't matter as long as its good fun for everybody. Any suggestions?

I like the eating idea - those no longer able to afford to live in Edinburgh ;-) find it difficult to attend a drink-only inspired evening but meal and drink offers the best of both worlds perhaps.
Mel - if you wanna do some foxhunting I can arrange that for you - as long as you dont bring any dogs with you. Arson and Hang gliding in this weather you must be mad :-D

Just as long as I don't have to pay £15 for scampi...............

Problem with meal and drink on a Sat eve is that its often 9:30-10:00pm by the time people have dumped kit at home and got back out again - not going to find too many restaurants happy to dish up grub then - bar getting ripped for 15 quid scampi. Plus for those on lower incomes an even less inclusive nite out. However, £4 or so for very tasty grub at The Regent and some of the best kept beer in Edinburgh.....

Yeah, the late finishes make eating out a bit of a problem.
Perhaps we could get a bunch of tickets for a comedy show, somewhere like the pleasance, while the festival's on? Anyone think that would be a good idea?
They start pretty much every hour so finishing late wouldn't be a big problem and you can grab a pint while you're there.
