The 2008 end of season dinner and awards ceremony - fondly known to literally dozens of people as the MUFTAs - has been scheduled for Friday 17 October at the Murrayfield Hotel, beginning at 7.30pm.
For the unitiated (or for the previously initiated who've been too drunk to remember previous awards dinners), the evening involves a three-course meal in the restaurant at the Murrayfield, followed by the sensible awards (player of the year for each of the four teams, best newcomer, most improved player etc). Then we move on to the slightly less sensible awards, such as Worst Dressed Muf, Worst Haircut, Comedy On and Off Pitch Moments and so on.
Further details, including menus and MUFTA nomination forms, will follow in the coming days. But in the meantime, put the date in your diary and let me know if you're up for coming along so I can get an idea of numbers. As usual, you can contact me on 0787 667 3320 or imsorryihavent@cluemail.com.
