Hey just back from Somerset with a beautiful trophy!!!!! ;D So chuffed. The fixture of the season will definately take place on the 31st August. Venue to be confirmed but i am fast working on that and will post it up as soon I have it comfirmed. Have been looking at Fettes (ie. pulling favours from an old p.e teacher and some of the scottish lacrosse girls!) We would like to make it an afternoon match... give us oldies a chance to eliminate any hangover.....anyone who thinks they can keep up with us is welcome to join us on saturday night! Think we are planning a meal of some sort (Italian) and then drinks! (where? ......tbc.....don't reckon any of my choices will be accepted; so no george st!) Any recommendations greatly appreciated! Have a large squad lined up .... so the more the merrier....if its ok i plan on using everyone! Even if you are not wanting to play please come down and support!! It should be a good game! Haven't yet dropped out to Mum but i have named her for teas!!!! And looking into going somewhere after the game....for food and drink??? Again i'll get back as soon as i know where we are playing and organise that! The girls and myself are very excited and very much looking forward to the game.......I have said how nice, well- mannered and lovely you all are so...................................DON'T DISAPPOINT ME!!!!!!!! Any questions just ask!!!! Char xx

"...I have said how nice, well- mannered and lovely you all are..."
Must be the scrumpy talking...
Congrats to you and the mighty Saltirettes on your victory Char. I think we need some sort of trophy to play for on the 31st, and in future years ideally...will see what I can track down. (Clean) suggestions for a name for said trophy very welcome!
I'm sure a few of us could be tempted out on Saturday night as well, especially if you're avoiding George Street. I knew good sense would eventually prevail!
Not fussed on alternative venues - Broughton Street maybe?
Cheers, and well done again, Tom

Latest news from the organising committee (i.e. Pickles) is that she's got a squad of 14 at present, so the earlier suggestion that a couple of male MDAFS players would get to be honorary women for the day probably won't come to pass. (Sorry Amjid, I know how much you were looking forward to that.)
Anyway, both sides will be rotating players to ensure everyone gets a decent game. As ever, fingers crossed for the weather!
Cheers Tom

Hey everyone!! Thought i'd take the time to explain the match saga! Had Fettes all booked, and Carlton as backup....all sounds amazing.....until Wednesday morning!! Fettes called, to say, that the groundsmen were not prepared to cut the pitch etc....due to the Heriotsty scottish weather! As for Carlton shot myself in the foot when they phoned on Tuesday asking if we needed the pitch because all the club wanted to go through to Glasgow to watch the first team in a cup - i said that was ok!!! ERROR!!! Thus on Wednesday i spent the entire day in the yellow pages, whilst my family buggered off into town for lunch....my only consolation was dinner at the Kitchen: (Recommended!) Same on Thursday........................no fun! So after a lot of work and hundreds of phonecalls, i managed to get somewhere to play.............sorry its the meadows, but least it's pitch of some sort! Should be a fun day, nothing serious.....next year we will have a serious match on a decent pitch!!!! Despite that, there is still a trophy to play for ;D Anyway fingers crossed for great weather!!! See you all tomorrow!!! xxxxxx

Guess what....
Game off due to the rain. It was just inevitable.
